Stepless distance between 2 measuring electrodes

We have developed a lid for a KMZ measuring cell that allows to infinitely vary the distance between two electrodes placed there.



Pulse generator for surface modification of metallic materials

This device consists of two unipolar 10kW DC power supplies and a bipolar pulse unit. A computer program controls the bipolar pulse unit and the recording of measurement data.


Electromechanical load test for tensile and fatigue tests

As the agency of Cormet in the German-speaking area, we delivered an electromechanical load test to a technical and scientific federal authority. The special feature of this installation is that not only the typical tensile tests but also the fatigue tests (CF) can be performed over the full dynamic range (100 kN).


Construction of new measurement cells:Delamination cell and Devanathan cell

The delamination measuring cell and the Devanthan cell are further proprietary developments.


A Faraday cage for 2 measurement cells

This cage model allows to perform two measurements with 2 independent measuring cells.


Design and implementation of a test plant

For a research facility in Darmstadt we designed a test plant for the mechanical load test of components in a hydrogen atmosphere at elevated pressure (50 bar) and temperature (- 40 ° C to 150 ° C).

Development and production of a high voltage potentiostat

A high voltage potentiostat with ± 400 V polarization voltage and ± 1000 mA current was designed and manufactured for a Swiss Materials Research Institute.

Development and production of high voltage potentiostats

Successfully completed the development and production of high voltage potentiostats with ± 200 V polarization voltage and currents of ± 500 mA / ± 2,000 mA / ± 4000 mA .

Development of a measuring system

100V unit for studying AC corrosion

For a french customer who works in the field of natural gas, we have extended a standard 100V potentiostat. The unit now is suitable for impedance measurement as well as standard methods. In addition, the two inputs for external reference voltage have been conducted via relays that can be controlled by software. The sequence measurement was further developed and is now available. Thus, for example, an input can be connected within a sequence. In the specific case, a 50 Hz sinusoidal signal is fed to this input, which generates a signal of ± 70V at the reference electrode.

Modular potentiostats for serial measurements

The known devices of the PGU-OEM series were modified for higher currents (2A) and consolidated into groups of four. This provides optimal use of Workspace. Nevertheless, the devices still have enough volume to dissipate waste heat. Each potentiostat of such a group of four has its own USB port and is controlled separately. If all devices are connected to a computer, so our software EcmWin starts several times.

Stress corrosion of high strength fasteners

For a testing bench for detection of stress corrosion of high strength fasteners, we delivered a complete system consisting of 20 potentiostats in a cabinet with accessories and related wiring to a manufacturer of tools and fasteners in Liechtenstein.

Devices with higher output voltage and/or current

During the year 2010, we have developed potentiostats/galvanostats with currents of 10A and 20A with output voltages of ± 25/35/140V. The respective polarization voltages ± 20/30/100V. Thus, essentially all high-current devices from the Jaissle IMP series have been converted into the PGU-series and equipped with features such as interface (computer control) and autoranging.

Spectroelectrochemical measurement setup

Within a ProInno II research project we realized a research on the topic "Spectroelectrochemical measurement setup" with the DECHEMA in Frankfurt am Main from December 2007 to March 2010. The aspiration of this project was to combine the measurement method "Rotating electrode" with a spectroscopic method.

Modular potentiostat with electrometer inputs

Modular construction means more compact design. In some cases, the freed space will be equipped with other components. Thus, we have provided for a customer a potentiostat with 5 additional electrometer inputs. The additional inputs allow the measurement of potentials at various points of the object (muffler, catalytic converter). The input resistance of these modules is 10<sup>13</sup> ohms, so that standard reference electrodes can easily be connected to. The readings are recorded in our EcmWin software, shown in numbers and written as additional columns in the data file.

Extension of the PGU-series with high-current devices

Corresponding to our concept of the PGU-series we built a 10A and 20A potentiostat / galvanostat towards the end of 2009. The 20A potentiostat provides an output voltage of ±33V and a polarization voltage of ±30V.

New BI-potentiostat (July 2009)

Based on our BI-potentiostat BI-PG 100 we further developed a new device corresponding to the PGU series, the PGU BI-100. This device has an integrated interface and the current ranges have been extended upwards and downwards each by a range. For both electrodes (disc and ring) current ranges from 1000mA to 100pA are available.

Development of a impedance potentiostat for high-ohmic impedances

Based on our impedance potentiostat PGU 10V-1A-IMP-S we developed the PGU-IMP-Micro. It provides a maximum current of 5mA, but can measure impedances reproducible up to 5 Terra-Ohms. This was realized by a special circuit design in combination with a high-quality and fast data acquisition system.

Development of a multi-channel potentiostat for multi-sensor array

In late 2007 and early 2008, we developed together with IKTS in Dresden a multi-channel potentiostat for electrochemical multi-sensor array. This device is equipped with 16 separate potentiostats. Each potentiostat can operate in 2 or 3 electrodes arrangement. The polarization is ensued in common, i.e. all potentiostats polarize to the same potential.

Module for measurement of potential noise with potential isolation

Referring to our modular system for the measurement of the electrochemical current noise we developed a module for mesurement of electrochemical potential noise. The input impedance of the potential meter amounts to 1014Ohms with the result that this module can be used as an electrometer. The module can be optionally assembled with potential isolation with the result that several samples in one system as well as in installations with external current influences can be measured. The modules are stackable; 8 modules can be assembled in one case and can be monitored with a measuring system.

Module for measurement of current noise with potential isolation

The request to use our modular zero-resistance ammeter in an industrial environment causes us to configure the modules optionally with potential isolation. Technically this means that the input measuring circuit operates with an insulated power supply. In this way several sensors can operate in one electrolyte as well as in installations whose components displaced by external currents.

Impedance measurement

Several customers demanded to measure impedances on an entire coated samples causes us to build an
impedance-potentiostat with an integrated sinus generator and fast gathering of high frequency signals. The device is universal which means it contains all standard methods and the impedance measurement of frequency ranges from 100µHz up to 100kHz. In high resistance ranges impedances up to 200GOhms can be measured.

Modular potentiostat PGU-MOD

A new potentiostat of the modular-series with restricted manual operability nevertheless still useable for simple retaining experiments. In addition to a single device automatable as well as in a rack of 4. Connection via USB interface.

8-way zero-resistance ammeter

Based on our existing knowledge around of electrochemical noise and the wishes of our customers we build multichannel zero-resistance ammeter. It is a base device with battery operation or power supply that can be installed with 1 to 8 ammeter modules. Every ammeter has a measurement range from 1mA to 10nA. Futhermore two AC-outputs per module are available. The AC-outputs (noise signal) are linked over switchable amplifier and filters. One of the two outputs is assembled with an additional 50Hz elimination filter.

Electrochemical switchable ion exchanger

Within an AIF-project at Dechema in Frankfurt am Main an electrochemical switchable ion exchanger was developed. For this purpose we delivered two potentiostats / galvanostats and a special customized measuring system.

Erosion researches

Our activities around disc- and ring-disc-electrodes have opened up a new business segment. It is a matter of erosion researches with the assistance of a rotating disc-electrodes. Mr. prof. Hoffmeister from ISSV in Hamburg supplied the necessary ideas that the Jaissle company implemented by a new rotator. It is interesting that the installation can research not only erosion but also corrosion.

New potentiostat / galvanostat

Within a research project of water softening a system of two potentiostats / galvanostats and a special measuring system was built. All measuring and control channels of the measuring system are potential isolated and automates both potentiostats / galvanostats. Different sensors record and process the data.
The potentiostat / galvanostat is modular designed and offers a high level of flexibility.

Cooperation with the CORMET company

With beginning of the year 2002 we have made a cooperation agreement with the CORMET company. Especially conjoining is a tension / tensile testing machine of CORMET that can be equipped with an electrochemical cell and consequently allows specific simulation of stress corrosion cracking.
